Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at the Plaza de Arriaga, specifically at the main entrance of the Teatro Arriaga, to begin our free walking tour of modern Bilbao. Are you ready to discover the most emblematic corners of the Biscayan capital? Let's go!

We'll first head toward the Guggenheim Museum, one of the most renowned artworks of the famous Canadian architect Frank Gehry. After admiring the exterior of this famous museum, we'll walk along the Gran Vía de Don Diego López de Haro, one of the main thoroughfares of the city. Then, we'll go to the Isozaki Atea twin towers, the tallest residential buildings in the city and the Basque Country, standing at 272 ft (83 m).

Then, we'll walk on the Zubizuri, also called the Campo Volantin Bridge, which crosses the Nervión River, until we reach the Paseo de Uribitarte walkway. Of course, we'll approach the La Salve Bridge, a place that will offer us magnificent views of the Bilbao river delta. Get your cameras ready! Next, we'll reach the Palacio de Ibagane, a Neo-Basque palace currently used as the official site for the Athletic Club soccer team.

Afterward, we'll head towards Plaza Moyúa, where we'll appreciate the exterior architecture of the Chavarri Palace and the Carlton Hotel.  In the distance, you can see the 41-story skyscraper Iberdrola Tower. Nearby, we'll also see the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum and the Biblioteca Universitaria de Deusto (University Library of Deusto).

Finally, we'll head back to the Guggenheim Museum, where we'll end this free walking tour of Bilbao after approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
